1. ED Task Force Development
Form a task force composed of subject matter experts to review the ED Report 87(R), explore options, and make recommendations to the Legislature for addressing the prevalence of EDs in Texas.

Expansion of Medicaid
Support 89(R) HB 2036
Expand Medicaid coverage of "Behavioral Health Services" to include support for patients with EDs, such as individual, group, and family counseling; motivational enhancement, relapse prevention, drug refusal, and coping skills training.


3. Health Curriculum Requirement
Support S.B. 185
Adopt requirements to include EDs among the necessary curricula of Texas public high school students.

Social Media Warning Label Mandate
Support 89(R) HB 499
Requires social media platforms operating in the State of Texas to display warning labels on their landing page highlighting the potential risks of social media usage on a user's mental health.

Accomplishments:
In the 87th Legislative Session, our team spearheaded the initiative to write and garner bipartisan congressional support for Senate Bill 184, the FIRST EVER legislation pertaining to Eating Disorders in Texas History.
The EDT team has 50 years of experience providing support and resources to Texans suffering from Eating Disorders.
