Barriers to treatment:

There is NO public nor private assistance for the treatment and care of individuals with low/no income.

Medicaid/Medicare does NOT cover Eating Disorder treatment nor lifesaving specialized resources. 

​​

Up to 50% of individuals with Eating Disorders struggle with Substance Abuse, yet no substance facilities offer ED treatment

In 2021, the Texas Legislature passed the groundbreaking bill our team worked on!

 

The necessary research has been conducted and the report is complete, detailing the prevalence of Eating Disorders in Texas.

Deloitte - Nationwide Survey

"The Strategic Training Initiative for the Prevention of Eating Disorders, based at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Boston Children’s Hospital, and the Academy for Eating Disorders engaged Deloitte Access Economics to estimate the social and economic impact of EDs in the United States of America (US) in 2018-19."

Harvard University- Nationwide Survey

The Chan School of Public Health conducted a study and created a brief facts sheet regarding the prevalence of Eating Disorders in the United States. 

​

Additionally, the brief report details the faults of the Center for Disease Control, specifically, their deliberate actions against Eating Disorder research and prevention.
